Different countries have very different holding period and statement age rules. Here's what you need to know.
Funds must be held continuously for 28 days before submitting. Bank statements must be dated within 31 days of application. Missing by even one day means rejection.
No official holding period, but 3–6 months of consistent transaction history is expected. Funds should ideally be in the account 6+ months. Large sudden deposits are a major red flag.
No fixed holding period, but recent bank statements are required. GIC (for students) takes 2–4 weeks to set up. Allow additional time before your application deadline.
Student visa applicants need a blocked account (Sperrkonto) with €11,904. Setting up a blocked account takes 6–8 weeks — start this process at least 5–6 months before your intake.
No fixed holding period but 3–6 months of recent bank statements are typically required. Some embassies may request up to 12 months of history.
Financial evidence is reviewed at the consular interview. Recent, consistent statements are key — the consular officer assesses overall financial credibility, not a specific holding period.
As early as possible — but at minimum 4–6 weeks before your visa application date. For UK visas, you need at least 6 weeks before applying (to allow the 28-day holding period plus a buffer). For other countries, 2–3 weeks is usually sufficient, but earlier is safer.
We offer same-day and urgent processing. However, for UK visas with the 28-day rule, a last-minute arrangement will not satisfy the holding requirement — you'll need to reschedule your application. For other countries like Australia, Canada, and Schengen, we can often arrange documentation within 24–48 hours.
Don't wait until the last minute. We recommend contacting us 12–16 weeks before your planned visa application date. This gives time for document preparation, fund holding, and reapplication if the visa is delayed. You can start the conversation now and we'll let you know when to proceed.
Yes. Most countries have a window in which you can apply (e.g. UK allows applications up to 6 months before your course starts; Australia recommends 3–4 months out). Applying too early means your passport may be held at the embassy for months. The timeline planner accounts for these windows.
Processing times vary: UK student visas typically take 3–8 weeks; Australia 4–12 weeks; Canada study permits 8–16 weeks; USA F-1 depends on interview availability but 2–6 weeks is typical; Schengen 2–4 weeks; Germany 6–12 weeks. The planner uses these typical ranges to calculate your milestones.
