The good news: a weekend or poya day is not a dead end. The honest news: what's possible depends heavily on which day it is and how early you start. First, Understand When Sri Lankan Banks Actually Close

• Preparing supporting paperwork (source of funds letters, sponsorship declarations) that doesn't require a Monday-only bank counter

What Can — and Can't — Be Done on Sundays and Poya Days

On a Sunday or poya day, bank counters are closed, so newly issued, freshly signed bank certificates generally cannot be produced that day. What can still happen:
